2020 Vina De Lestonnac Retreat

Our annual retreat will be held from Thursday, June 4th – Sunday, June 7th at Vina de Lestonnac Retreat Center in Temecula. Space is limited for this retreat, so don’t wait to register! Spaces for the retreat are now full for both the weekend retreaters and Saturday Sewers. We have opened a waitlist for both options. If you’re interested, please sign up and we’ll contact you if a space is available.

Pricing and Information

Weekend Retreater:
$370 for a triple room
$460 for a double room
$610 for a single room (not guaranteed, sign up dependent)

Registration and non-refundable $100 deposit due by February 9th. Your spot is not reserved until both the registration form and deposit has been received. The remaining balance due April 1st and is non-refundable, unless your spot can be filled by another member.

If you aren’t able to join us for the whole weekend, come spend Saturday, June 6th with us!

Saturday Sewer:
$55 for sewing, lunch, and dinner

Payment is due by April 1st, but Saturday sewer spots are not reserved until payment is made. Payments is non-refundable, unless your spot can be filled by another member.

Payment for both Weekend Retreaters and Saturday Sewists may be made in person by cash or check or online through Venmo. Additional payment information will be provided once your registration form is submitted.

Waitlists for both weekend retreaters and Saturday sewers will open once the allotted spaces have been filled.

Registration Steps:

  1. Registration for the retreat by completing the retreat form.
  2. Make your deposit if you’re a Weekend Retreater or complete payment if you’re a Saturday Sewer in order to secure your spot.

Hi all! Happy New Year! Our apologies about the blog subscription not sending out emails for the past many months. There was a bug that was preventing the notification emails from being sent out. I think that we’ve solved it. You should have received a notification on January 2, 2020 about this post, and also about Kristyn’s newsletter post. If you didn’t, try checking your spam folders, or resubscribing using the form in the top right corner of the blog. (You have to do this on a computer and not a phone or tablet).

January 2020 Newsletter

Happy New Year! Our first guild meeting of the year will be on Sunday, January 12th at 11:00 am at Quilt in a Day in San Marcos.

Our January newsletter is up and has a lot of information about the upcoming meeting, so be sure to check it out!

We will be opening registration for our annual June guild retreat at noon on Sunday, January 12th. More information is about this is in the newsletter. There will be a blog post with all of that information and a link to register on the 12th.

There will be a pouch swap after the January meeting. Bring any type, style, or size of pouch to the meeting in a brown paper bag and we will have a blind swap.

2020 Membership Registration

Are you interested in joining the San Diego Modern Quilt Guild?  We’d love to have you!

Here’s the easy two step system:

1. Complete the 2020 registration form.  This is important even if you have completed a previous registration form, since the form changes slightly each year and we want to make sure we have up-to-date information from you.

2. Pay membership dues ($50, or $25 after July 1) in person (cash or check), by mail or online.  Details for submitting by mail or online are provided when you submit your membership form.

Our December newsletter is now available. It’s short and sweet this month, as we prepare for the holiday season and the upcoming year!

Just as a reminder, we will not be having our usual guild meeting on Sunday, December 8th at Quilt in a Day, as we are having our holiday party off site. Members should have received an invite to the party – if you haven’t, please check your spam folder as it may have gone there or email the board and we can follow up for you.

Our usual sew-ins will be happening this month as well – some dates/times need to be added as we get it from the particular location, but all are still happening.

Holiday Party Info & Reminder

Just a reminder that our annual guild holiday party is coming up next Sunday, December 8th.

Invites have been sent to all current members and we’re asking that you RSVP by Sunday, December 1st, just so that we can get a head count and know how many tables/chairs that we need to set up at the venue.

We encourage you to carpool to the event, as some of the parking is a bit farther away. Additional parking is just to the north of the main entrance and we will have signs directing you where to park.

We will be playing two games of LCR (a dice game) with fat quarters at the party. One game will be with low volume fabrics and the second will be rainbow with fabrics of any color. In order to play, just bring three FQs, either low volume, rainbow, or both. You may choose to play in both games, just one, or none – it’s up to you. The winner of each particular game takes home all of the FQs of that round!

Feel free to bring hand work projects to work on as we eat, chat, and celebrate this past year.
