In our charity outreach efforts, we try to reach as many different groups as we are able. While quilt making and donating is one of our primary focuses, not every organization can benefit from the donation of a quilt. Each year, the guild raffles off the QuiltCon Community Outreach Challenge quilt to raise funds for a local organization and to support the guild’s charity efforts. For 2025, the guild has chosen to give 100% of the proceeds to Feeding San Diego.
This opportunity quilt giveaway is open to anyone, so please feel free to share this with friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, or anyone else you know that wants to take part.
Tickets for this are $10 each and can be purchased here through Zeffy.
Each transaction is limited to 10 tickets, so if you wish to purchase more than 10, you will need to make a separate transaction for the amount after the first 10. Zeffy accepts many payment options, but if you wish to pay in person, that option is there as well. As this is an opportunity quilt, there is an option for free opportunity ticket entry on the form.
If you are interested in being part of our final donation, but do not want to be entered in the drawing, you are welcome to do so. Please email Suzanne Coyne, guild treasurer, at sdmqgboard@gmail.com so that she can make a note about that.
The winner of the quilt will be drawn at the guild’s Holiday Party, but need not be present to win!
In 2024, we were able to raise $1000 through the opportunity quilt giveaway. Let’s see if we can surpass that this year!
