Activities
Sue Bouchard had the floor:
- Retreat Recap: The retreat was well attended, and much was accomplished
- Second Saturday Workshops at the Grand Central Quilt and Stitch were discussed
- September 12, 2026 – English Paper Piecing with Courtney, Alison, and Jen. The class was well attended by 24 members. Completed projects were displayed by the group. See the photo below.
- October 10, 2026 – Project Box Carry Bag with Courtney. This is a great bag to carry the ArtBin and Michaels project boxes. Courtney, Jen and Kristyn shared their samples of the finished product. There is still room in the class if you want to sign up. You need to do your “homework” prior to class (prepping the fabric panels) since there is not enough time to finish in class if you don’t.
- November 14, 2026 – Low Waste, Semi-Improve, Fat Quarter Friendly Zig-Zag Quilt with Susan. There is still room in the class if you want to sign up. You will need true fat quarter size (18” x 21”) fabrics for this method. Susan shared three examples of the quilt.

Charity
- The Second Trimester Wonky Log Cabin blocks for JIT are due now. Please turn them in or coordinate with Kristyn to arrange delivery. Kristyn needs to count completed blocks to prepare the quilt tops.
- The guild is continuing to collect placemats and potholders for Meals on Wheels. Kristyn is still working on the design for the food tray holder/sling – pattern coming soon.
- The current group trimester charity project is for Moores Cancer Center for patients to use during their treatment at the center. The group quilt will be made from cornered cabin blocks. Block kits are available and directions were sent via email. They are also located on the website HERE. Finished quilts need to be smaller lap or throw sized.
- Please remember if you wash your quilt before turning it in for donation, do so with unscented detergent and fabric softener (if you use that). If you don’t wash it before donating, the Charity Coordinator will do so. If there is pet hair on the quilt, it must be washed prior to turning it in.
Member Spotlight
Today’s member spotlight was Janine Fulkerson. Janine shared her fabric journey which began with clothes and continues to art mixed media, quilts, and bags. She was joined by her daughter Cora German who participated in the family storytelling.
Raffle and Sew & Tell
There was a raffle for members in attendance with five winners. Afterwards, members showed off their recent makes.
Next Month’s Meeting – SCRAP SWAP!
This is one of our most fun and highly anticipated events of the year! Bring your unwanted scraps and after our October 11, 2026 meeting we will put everything on the large table and you can take home new to you fabric and scraps!
It was suggested to have smaller scraps sorted into clear bags by sizes. The intention is not to dump out mountains of small scraps on the table. For example, if you have a bunch of triangles or charm squares, bundle each of those separately into clear bags so that they stay grouped. Fabrics that are Fat-Quarter sized or larger don’t need to be bundled.
Sue’s Quilt Tribe Sew-Along
After the meeting, Sue Bouchard shared the last eight blocks for the sew-along. Next month Sue will cover finishing the quilt top.
Sew-In
Following the meeting, there is a sew-in for the afternoon. There is a second sew-in the 4th Sunday of each month. Come and join us!
