Charity
Ronald McDonald House – 44 quilts were delivered this past week.
Just In Time – we provide quilts throw size to twin quilts for 18-20+ year olds who are aging out of the foster system. For our Second Trimester Group Quilt we are making wonky log cabin each block using three colors in order of the rainbow. See instructions HERE.
Meals on Wheels – we continue to collect placemats and potholders. See instructions HERE.
Other charities we support –
- Gently Hugged which helps provide for infants in the first year. Shelly Hoffman, chas2454@aol.com is our lead for this charity. Quilts should be 30” x 34” for stroller blankets or 31”-40” wide and 35”-40” long for other quilts. No religious, holiday or sports team fabrics allowed.
- Quilts for Ukraine – Melodee Cartin, mdcrkc@aol.com, is our lead for this charity. She is collecting new and gently used quilts.
Member Spotlight
Judy Levine shared both quilts she had made and ones from her childhood. We were inspired by her work and her color choices. Thanks, Judy!
Sew & Tell
We enjoyed seeing many beautiful quilts created by our members. This guild is so talented!
Rummage Sale
Members brought a variety of items to sell at the rummage sale – fabric, patterns, kits, tools. One person’s rummage is another’s treasure!
Sue’s Quilt Tribe Class
Following the rummage sale, Sue taught more blocks for the Quilt Tribe quilt sew-along. She not only provides specific directions, she has provided three different sizes for each of the blocks with all of the measurements needed. This class is more than worth the $25!
Next guild meeting – August 9, 2026
