Charity
Kristyn Jansen presented the charity update:
- First Trimester Outreach Focus: Woven Square Blocks – Each trimester we have a group quilt project, where directions for a quilt block are provided and you can choose to sew a block (or more) from your stash or from provided block kits. This trimester, we are making Woven Square Blocks for the Ronald McDonald House. Blocks are due back at the March 8, 2026 meeting. Directions for the blocks are on the website.
- Meals On Wheels: We are making placemats and potholders. Directions are available on our website. We split our donation between North County and Metro Service Centers.
- Meals on Wheels Special Project: We’ve been asked to make bowl cozies that fit the frozen meal trays that go into the microwave. Kristyn is finalizing the directions for making the cozies and will let us know when to start making them.
- Charity Participation Challenge: The guild is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, therefore a primary focus of the guild is on charity. This year the guild is challenging all members to participate in making quilts, placemats, and potholders for our charity arm. This can be making blocks, quilting, binding, or even making a whole quilt. More information is located on our charity page. Let’s see everyone participate!
